Beneficial effects of dispersed generation and self consumption in the energy transition
Luigi Mazzocchi Director, Generation Technologies and Materials Department - Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico-RSE
Some barriers to be faced for the transition to generation from renewables are highlighted, such as indirect costs borne by the electricity system and social acceptance, and the positive effects of distributed generation and self-consumption, both at individual and collective level, are analyzed. In this context, of particular importance is the generation from solar source and cogeneration from biomass.
