- By taxi: Official taxis have a fixed fare of 50 (including luggage) to anywhere within the Aurelian Walls (central Rome).
- By shuttle bus: Several companies (e.g., Terravision, SIT Bus) offer direct transfers from Fiumicino to Roma Termini; travel time around 4560 minutes.
- By car: From the airport, follow the A91 motorway toward Rome, then continue on Via Cristoforo Colombo or Viale Marconi toward the city center (approx. 45 minutes, traffic-dependent).
From Rome Ciampino Airport (15 km)
- Take a shuttle bus to Roma Termini (about 40 minutes), then follow the directions below.
- Official taxi fare from Ciampino to central Rome (within the Aurelian Walls) is 31.
From Termini Railway Station (about 1.2 km 15 minutes)
- By foot: Exit Termini Station at Piazza dei Cinquecento and walk along Via Cavour toward the Colosseum (approx. 15 minutes). Turn right onto Via degli Annibaldi, then left onto Via Eudossiana. The main entrance of the Faculty of Engineering is at Via Eudossiana 18.
- By metro: Take Metro Line B (direction Laurentina) and get off at Cavour Station (one stop). From there, walk about 5 minutes up Via Cavour and Via degli Annibaldi to reach Via Eudossiana.
- By taxi: The ride takes about 510 minutes, depending on traffic.
Transportation in Rome
Getting around Rome is easy and convenient thanks to an extensive network of public transportation, taxis, and ride-sharing options. Below you find useful information to help you plan your journey.
🚍 Metro
Rome's metro system has three lines:
- Line A (Red) connects Termini to key stops such as Spagna, Ottaviano (Vatican), and Anagnina.
- Line B (Blue) connects Termini to Cavour, Colosseo, and Laurentina.
- Line C (Green) serves eastern neighborhoods and continues to expand.
The closest metro station to the conference venue (Via Eudossiana 18) is Cavour (Line B), just a 5-minute walk from the Faculty of Engineering. Trains run approximately every 510 minutes from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM (until 1:30 AM on Fridays and Saturdays).
🚌 Buses and Trams
Rome's ATAC network covers most of the city.
- Tickets are valid across buses, trams, and metro.
- A single ticket (BIT) costs 1.50 and is valid for 100 minutes after validation.
- Contactless payments are accepted on many buses.
- You can plan routes using Google Maps, Moovit, or ATAC Roma apps.
The stops closest to the venue are on Via Cavour and Via dei Fori Imperiali, both served by multiple bus lines.

Official taxis in Rome are white and display a TAXI sign on the roof.
- Only use licensed taxis, which start the meter at boarding.

🚶 Walking

Rome is served by two main railway stations:
- Roma Termini (main hub, 15 minutes' walk to the venue)
- Roma Tiburtina (connected via Metro Line B to Cavour)
High-speed trains connect Rome with all major Italian cities Florence (1h30), Naples (1h15), Milan (3h) making day trips easy before or after the conference.
🚴 E-scooters and Car Sharing
Several app-based services (such as Helbiz, Dott, and Lime) offer electric scooters, bikes, and car-sharing options throughout the city. These are practical for short trips but should be used with care in Rome's historic center.
